Coyotes!

Johnny has 24 baby lambs in the barn and with the snow on the ground, the coyotes are hungry. His dog, Chloe is a Great Pyranees and is supposed to be a guard dog. Well, this morning, Katie was doing dishes when she saw one behind the manure pile. We all ran into watch it and it just stood there. Johnny had borrowed a high power rifle with a scope and he went out front behind the cars and shot it right through the eye. He's proud of himself! John can't wait to tell Andy.

Wow! I'm impressed with that shot! Way to go, John! Great picture.

I had no idea he had so many lambs. Were there a lot of multiple births? He must be doing well with that as a business. He's been doing it a long time now, hasn't he?

Paige wanted to know how the coyotes could get the lambs if they are in the barn? I just figured there are ways to sneak in if they can find them and are persistent.

Most have been twins. I think there one or two that had single lambs. Thank God there weren't any triplets. In the past, we would bottle feed one or two lambs. I used to help too.

Tell Paige that the coyotes can get into our barn from the backside because it's open with only gates to keep the sheep in.

Kharma... next time an icicle will fall on his eye and he'll think he shot his eye out! Better have him start wearing some thick-lensed black glasses as a precaution.
